Fashion's Future through a Lens of Sustainability
I was honored to share my story as an independent jewelry designer and contribute to the conversation with sustainability expert and author, Alyssa Hardy @stopalyssatime recently at SoHo’s Wolf and Badger @wolfandbadger store. The event brought together journalists, stylists and leaders in the fashion space, reflecting on NYFW and the future of fashion through the lens of ethical, environmentally responsible practices.
My handmade collection sold at the NYC Wolf and Badger store and online incorporates upcycled deadstock chains, recycled metal, and ethically sourced gems. This means that the components of my original designs come from remnants and scraps that would otherwise have been wasted. I melt down and reuse the gold and silver that my jewelry is made from. I only source gemstones from reliable, traceable resources.
I love that Wolf and Badger is a certified B Corp, meeting the highest social and environmental performance standards. Every independent designer sold at Wolf and Badger has been vetted to uphold these values as well. I’m lucky to be part of a global movement of businesses working towards a better world.
