About the Designer

Meet Amy Delson

Amy Delson is an NYC-based jewelry designer, fabricator, master up-cycler, and the creative force behind Amy Delson Jewelry (ADJ). Inspired by her lifelong obsession with collecting and reworking talismans, Amy launched ADJ a decade ago after studying advanced fabrication techniques at 92Y School of the Arts and with BG Art Jewelry Atelier in NYC's Jewelry District. At the Fashion Institute of Technology, Amy expanded her skill set to include enamel work.

Amy has been cultivating her artistry and love of jewelry since she was a young girl, dancing around in treasures from her mother's jewelry box, asking for each one's story. Amy's creativity developed studying and performing theater and multiple dance styles at Duke University in Durham, N.C. and abroad at the University of Bristol, England. Amy published her research on Loïe Fuller and the Futurist Movement in Dance Chronicle. Her fascination with the shape of energy in movement translates into the grace and proportion of the jewelry she now crafts. Amy's storytelling evolved into fashion when she was most notably influenced by interviewees including Oscar de la Renta and Kate Spade while working as Editor of Belk department store's View Magazine. She then delved further into the luxury world as a Manhattan real estate marketer and publicist. It was here that Amy sharpened her eye for design. Amy's passionate understanding of lifestyle and culture are key attributes incorporated into her jewelry aesthetic.

Amy Delson Jewelry has been featured at New York Fashion Week and showcased with runway collections from Project Runway’s Althea Harper and luxury designer Stephen Goudeau. Amy has been a proud affiliate of Made in NYC and member of the Women's Jewelry Association and the Accessories Council. Amy supports The Nature Conservancy, Nomi Network, and other philanthropic causes, and has served on the Board of Save a Child’s Heart. Amy and her husband Daniel work and live in Manhattan with their two sons, Samson and Helix.

Every piece of Amy's jewelry is first originally designed and handmade with love in NYC, which includes soldering, forging, wax carving, texturing, beading, and stone setting. Collections include bracelets, cuffs, earrings, necklaces, headdresses, and rings, inspired by Art Nouveau, Art Deco and the old and new architecture of Amy's beloved New York City. She is passionate about recycling, reducing waste, working with local artisans, and using ethical practices for all production.Â
