How should I care for and clean my gold vermeil and sterling silver jewelry?
Our gold vermeil jewelry is made with a 2.5 micron layer of 18k gold over a solid sterling silver base. This makes it much more durable than simple flash plated jewelry that can have lesser quality metal as the base. That being said, we do advise you treat your gold vermeil and sterling silver jewelry with care.

Do not sleep in jewelry. It’s a good idea to put jewelry on last and take it off first. Limit wearing in water, whether showering or bathing. Don’t expose jewelry to perfume, oil, or lotion. Avoid excessive sweat while wearing. Store in a soft place away from moisture, and use a soft cloth to restore shine.

Is 18k gold over sterling silver good for sensitive skin?
Yes, 18k gold over sterling silver is generally a great choice for sensitive skin, especially with a substantial 2.5-micron layer of genuine 18k gold that creates a comfortable barrier between your skin and the sterling silver beneath. However, everyone’s skin is unique, so we always recommend wearing your jewelry and noticing how it feels for you personally. If it turns out not to be the right fit for your skin, we happily accept returns and exchanges of undamaged pieces within 14 days.

Will gold-plated sterling silver turn green?
Gold-plated sterling silver typically does not turn green, because its base metal is sterling silver rather than brass or high-copper alloys that commonly cause discoloration. Over time, the gold layer can wear and the sterling silver beneath may tarnish slightly, but this usually appears as a darkening rather than green and can be minimized with proper care, cleaning, and polishing.
